Robert Burns Clark
Born in the hills of North Carolina, where tales of the past were kept wildly alive by an extended family of storytellers, Robert Burns Clark knows a thing or two himself about telling a story. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the School of Law, Clark made a movie called Moonrunners, and shortly after, moved his family to California to continue his writing pursuits. A few years later Moonrunners was adapted into the Dukes of Hazzard television series.
Clark has written, re-written or edited over forty episodes for prime time television including: “The Dukes of Hazzard,” “Tour of Duty,” “The Class of ’61,” and “Hardball,” and written and produced several movies of the week.
His first novel published by Definitive Words, Pittsburg Landing, is a powerful story centered on the brutal Civil War battle of the same name, also know by the Union moniker as Shiloh, which was fought April 6-7, 1862. But, Pittsburg Landing is far more than just a Civil War novel—it is a seamless melding of true characters and events from the Civil War era, showing how real children, husbands, wives and lovers were affected by those brutal events. Pittsburg Landing is as beautiful as it is stirring, with complicated characters and masterful storytelling that puts the reader right in the middle of one of the most tragic periods in our nation's history.
Robert Burns Clark lives in Manhattan Beach, California, where he is presently writing a modern-day story of piracy that will be finished this year.
